Missoni for Target

On September 13, 2011, you will be able to get in on the action as another major fashion house  has teamed up with a Super retailer, Target.  Missoni for Target officially launched yesterday, September 8, 2011 as a way to kick off New York Fashion Week and celebrate Fashion’s Night Out, however shoppers will not be able to shop the stores until Sept. 13, 2011.  In anticipation, Missoni set up a pop-up store launch near Bryant Park. This event was shown an immense amount of support as actress Emma Roberts, along with supermodels Selita Ebanks and Alessandra Ambrosio stopped by and posed for pictures. Everyone was and continues to be very excited for this launch, so the pop-up store will remain open for the next three days so individuals can view and shop the collection.

Missoni is an Italian fashion house best known for their colorful elusive knitwear patterns.  Founded in 1953 by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, the brand has grown tremendously making them one of the leading Designer brands in the world.  Since Missoni typically caters to a high end market, the temporary merge with Target gives fashionista’s an opportunity to own a piece of this historic brand.  Missoni has been featured on T.V. shows such as “The Rachel Zoe Project” as well as celebrities Leighton Meester, Rihanna, Eva Mendez and Joy Bryant to name a few.  Since this collaboration is happening, it is only right that the face of Missoni for Target should be Margherita Missoni.  Margherita Missoni is the granddaughter of founders Ottavio and Rosita  Missoni.  Margherita’s mother is Angela, who is the creative director for both women’s and menswear.

Target is best known for being the second-largest discount retailer in the United States.  This store caters to the masses by supplying consumers with appliances, clothing, groceries and a slew of others.  Since Target is appealing to many regions in the US and is currently expanding their business internationally into Canada, it’s no wonder Missoni would like a piece of the action.  Missoni continues to make history worldwide, and we wish them continued success.
